Want to get involved?

We rely on the support of our volunteers to serve thousands of people each year.

WOTM is dedicated to offering a variety of opportunities for you to use your time and talents to give back to the community.

  • Our community clean-up events bring neighbors together with a shared mission: to create a cleaner, more beautiful environment for all.

We focus on clearing litter from neighborhood streets and beautifying main corridors to restore pride and vibrancy in our shared spaces.

  • Throughout Queens, vibrant historical murals tell the story of our communities — their struggles, triumphs, and cultural heritage.

Our mural repainting project is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of these public artworks. Alongside local artists, volunteers, and passionate Queens residents, we work to restore faded murals, ensuring their stories remain visible and respected.

  • As part of our broader Economic Development Program, the graffiti removal project supports small businesses by helping maintain clean, welcoming storefronts.

We focus on removing unwanted graffiti from local shops and commercial spaces, restoring their appearance and helping business owners put their best foot forward.

  • Our food & backpack distribution project is powered by the dedication and compassion of volunteers who are committed to uplifting Queens communities. With a focus on serving vulnerable populations (seniors, families with children) and residents in underserved neighborhoods, volunteers help us distribute fresh food, essential groceries, and backpacks filled with school supplies.

  • Have a knack for painting, teaching, or a special talent you’d love to share with kids?

Our afterschool programs are looking for passionate volunteers to inspire and support the next generation. Whether it’s arts, academics, or life skills, your time and talents can make a lasting impact in the lives of young scholars.

  • Our civic engagement volunteer roles offer meaningful ways to get involved. You can support voter registration, assist with community outreach, take part in advocacy efforts, or help educate the public on important issues.

Whether you're passionate about equity, policy, or simply want to make a difference, your time and voice can help build a more informed and active Queens.

  • Every year, we host a variety of holiday events that bring joy to the community and we need your help to make them happen.

Volunteers play a key role in everything from wrapping holiday gifts and serving warm, ready-to-eat Thanksgiving meals to face painting and running carnival games at our spring celebration.

No matter your skills or interests, there’s a way for you to spread cheer and help create memorable moments for families across Queens.

It made me feel good and realize why I continue to help my community. I felt so appreciated at the moment, that a little girl whom I made bunny ears on recognized me 2 weeks later.
