Advocacy Day February 11 in Albany!

Why This Advocacy Day Matters.

The Neighborhood Preservation Coalition (NPP) provides critical one-on-one technical assistance to 130 Neighborhood Preservation Companies across New York State, including Woodside on the Move (WOTM).

Funding for this vital program is decided every year through the New York State budget process, making ongoing advocacy essential.

As both individual organizations and as a collective coalition, we must ensure that every State Senator and Assembly member understands the invaluable impact of the Neighborhood Preservation Program and actively supports crucial funding in the 2026–2027 State budget.

Your participation helps protect the programs and services that strengthen our communities.

What to Expect & How to Prepare

During meetings with legislators, participants will:

  • Introduce themselves and share basic information about their organization.

  • Make a clear funding request for the 2026 NPP budget agenda (you will be fully briefed by WOTM’s tenant organizers).

  • Close by sharing a personal story about how WOTM’s services have impacted your life.
