BEACON PROGRAM

Overview:

Our Beacon Program transforms P.S. 361Q into a vibrant community hub after school, evenings, and weekends. It provides a safe, welcoming space where school aged youth (grades 6-12), young and older adults can learn, play, and connect. Through a mix of academic support, recreational activities, arts programming, and life skills workshops, the Beacon Program helps students build confidence, strengthen social-emotional skills, and discover new interests.

The program is open to all community members—offering opportunities for youth and adults alike. Kids and teens can enjoy tutoring, sports, arts & crafts, and structured social activities, while adults can participate in programs like ESL classes, Zumba, and other skill building activities. Beacon isn’t just an after-school program—it’s a place for the whole neighborhood to grow together.
