Organizing to Keep Woodside a Thriving Commercial and Cultural Center
Woodside on the Move is invested in improving the quality of life for all of its residents and business members.
We organize free special events in parks, schools, and open spaces in and around Woodside. This includes cultural performances, film screenings, street fairs, sports festivals, and music nights.
In 2012, Woodside on the Move inaugurated the Woofside Halloween Pet Parade and the Taste of Woodside, festive community events supported by local businesses and elected officials.
Woodside on the Move is also home to many artists. We welcome their creativity and inspiration at all levels of our work. In the past, we have collaborated with local artists to create community murals, launched a long-standing graffiti-removal initiative, and seasonal gardening initiatives with the city’s Summer Youth Employment Project (SYEP).
We are committed to sustainable economic development efforts that support local and small merchants, while preserving affordable housing for the neighborhood’s most vulnerable tenants including seniors and new immigrants.
